Building massive followings on social networks such as Twitter, and Facebook can result in your online marketing communications reaching the masses faster than any other form of marketing. Twitter allows you to have a relatively limitless number of followers, whilst Facebook only allows five thousand per email address, but the ability to build a super targeted following on both makes them equally beneficial. More importantly it means mass marketing online has become widely available to all, regardless of budget or technical ability.
Unfortunately, the ever presence of marketing “robots” on the main networks, and by robots I mean people who constantly scream “buy, buy, buy” puts a greater emphasis on the need for you to set yourself apart and offer value through your communication. This is easily done through building meaningful relationships in order to profit in the long run. The clue here is in the title “online social networks”.
Platforms, like Facebook for example, were conceived to give people the ability to connect with people, socially, who they wouldn’t normally get access to. Therefore, the need to focus on helping, listening, getting to know, and marketing to people through indirect and ‘out of the box’ methods is extremely important.
After all, the term “online communities” should not be used loosely within your marketing efforts as within any community you get out what you put into it. Setting aside time for pure networking with people, making useful and interesting comments on peoples posts, answering questions, and in the case of twitter Re-Tweeting users useful information is truly priceless in terms of building a following.
Without doubt, social networks are top of the list for online marketing communication and driving traffic, but as marketers, we should not abuse the very nature of why social networks were conceived. If you’re targeted with the people you add/follow and also careful not to fall into the socialite trap, on the flip side, by wasting time aimlessly surfing profiles and posts; you’ll be sure to reap the rewards both in terms of gaining profit and building valuable personal and business relationships.

In today’s world, businesses are faced with many decisions when it comes to marketing and advertising. How do you get started? What media to use in your marketing campaigns. These are just a couple of the immediate challenges. The reality is that all of the options available will work to one degree or another. The key to your success, regardless of the medium you select, is to present yourself in a manner that appeals to your prospect. When this is understood, you can be successful regardless of your selection.
Very often people follow the generally accepted trends and styles. This happens with the clothes we wear (anyone remember Beatle Mania?), the beer we drink (what age are you) and the way we advertise in publications such as the Yellow Pages. Look in the Yellow Pages and you will see page after page of similar looking business card layouts and wording. What happens is we start to mentally purge the look-a-likes and carry on until we see something that is different.
Some of the most interesting, and different, ads that I have seen appear as public service announcements. They have headlines like: Warning! Don’t Even Think of Using a Travel Agent Before Calling FREE Traveler Awareness Hotline! The copy below this ad would offer free advice on how to book the best rate for your next trip. I was scanning the travel section because I was obviously interested in taking a trip and this advertisement, because it was different, caught my eye. To make it really successful it also had an 800 number at the bottom to call for a Free Report. There was no ad sponsor so the whole presentation was non-threatening. I was given a safe way to get information I wanted without having to speak directly to a Travel Agent whose will endeavor to sell me.
The same method can be used regardless of the medium you select for your advertising. Be it Yellow Pages, Business Cards and Val-Pak Coupons. The key is to use the criteria that make it different, interesting and non-threatening. As much as the principles are basic - there definitely is an art to this type of marketing.
I have learned of a company, that over the last 12 years, has developed automated systems that allow business people to incorporate any type of marketing and/or advertising into an overall Marketing Strategy. That company is Automated Marketing Solutions or AMS. They differentiate themselves by not only providing solutions, but by educating their clients on the proper techniques to use including how to create the right message by the form of media being used. It doesn’t stop there. AMS provides the capability for a company to place their ENTIRE Marketing Program on Auto-pilot. Once a business marketing program (including voice messages, e-mails, faxes and other broadcast and mail out collateral) is compiled and sequenced, their Lead Management System or LMS provides the unique ability to control and manage the program without any further human interaction.
The benefits to this system are significant time savings on what would otherwise be labor intensive tasks. It also allows for consistency in marketing messages. It means that businesses never need worry about losing customers who misinterpreted your lack of contact for lack of follow up. Most website owners want to get more traffic to their websites since they know that they’ll get more sales. Find out how to do this and get targeted traffic - people who will want to buy your services and products. Just follow what is written here and you will see results in a short amount of time.
Usually when people go on the Web, they are searching for something specific. What is great about the Internet is that there is a lot of information out there and you can find just about anything you are looking for by searching. What you want is your website to show up in the search results.
Do Website Search Engine Optimization
Having your website rank well is called Search Engine Optimization (or SEO for short). There are some things that your website needs like good page titles, the right amount of keywords / key phrases in your copy, creating the right meta tags, search engine friendly URLs and have it all complimented by a pleasing design that’s professional and easy to navigate. Your domain names should contain your main keyword and it should also be at least a year or two old. For the purposes of this article, were going to assume that you’ve done all of that work.
The next thing to do is rank better. This is the main thing and the main thing in doing SEO is to get incoming links. Each website that links to yours is like voting for your website. The more votes you get, the higher you rank.When you get more votes than your competition, your site moves above theirs. Links using hypertext (linked text) from sites that also rank well is optimal but a link is a link and they all help.
How Do You Get Incoming Links?
There are a number of ways to get links. If people like your company website, they may link to it. Honestly, these links are about the best ” so make sure you’re asking people to link to your site. You can even give them the HTML code to use, which works really well because then you can specify a keyword (your main keyword) as the linked text. You should also ask people you do business with or friends to link to your website. You can also find other websites out there that are related to yours and email the owners, asking for a link. This is called a link exchange and they’re worth doing.
One powerful way to get incoming links to your website is with article marketing. This article that you are reading right now is article marketing. What you do is take some time and write up an article that’s full of good information. Your article should strive to answer a common question that people may have about a subject. You then will submit your unique article to article directories. At the end of your article, don’t forget to include a resource box, which contains incoming links back to your website.
An important item to note about submitting articles is that for it to be of any value, each article that you post on different websites needs to be totally original. What? Writing that many articles would take forever and would not be worth your time at all. That’s very true. So there’s a tool that will help you do that work and it’s called the Unique Article Wizard.
The Unique Article Wizard does its magic when it makes your article original and automatically submits it to article repositories that are just waiting to post your article. These directories rank well usually and Google knows about them, so you get good links back to your site. I have used this tool many times and have seen great results, including more traffic. Now we’re talking!
Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take quite a bit of time. It’s true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it’s really nothing. If you have writer’s block, then don’t worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a cheap price. When I sit down to do some writing, I try to remember AIDA, which means:
* Attention
* Interest
* Desire
* Action
Make sure your article does these things, in order. It’s important that the article grabs attention with an interesting headline and then get interest in the first paragraph. It needs to create desire and then end with a call to action, which can sometimes be your resource box. Writing “how to” articles is also a good thing to think about when writing because they can definitely grab attention. People are also going onto the Web to often find out how to do something. Think about how you have used the Internet this week.
You will use the wizard where you re-write different versions of each paragraph. Then the magic happens. Your unique article is automatically submitted to article directories around the Internet. You can set it to submit 70 or so per day to somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 or more sites - sometimes many more, like 1500-1600 or more. Nice!
Then usually within 6-8 days, you will start to see more web visitors coming to your website. Google will also see more sites that link to your website and that gets you higher search engine rankings. One goal may be to write and submit 1 article per week and you would see great results by just doing that. Many people are doing that very thing, so you know it’s successful. Be sure to take your time doing it and include really good information in your writing. That’s important. You will look like an expert in your industry and people will come to your website for more information.

Would you like to get more traffic to your site and have that traffic be people that are interested in your products and services? You can do it and see results soon.
A lot of people have broadband / DSL connections for their computers at home or at the office. This makes the Web very accessible. People will search on the Internet for something specific - that is usually why they go onto the Web… to find something. When they search for keywords that relate to your business or website, you want to show up high in the search engine results - usually in the top 10 is where you need to be.
Do Website Search Engine Optimization
Before you even get started marketing your website, you want to be sure that it is set up correctly. You will want to make sure you perform Search Engine Optimization (or SEO for short) tasks to your website. Either you can do this or you can hire someone. This work includes things like getting the right keyword list made, putting keywords in page titles, creating good meta tags, doing internal linking, having search engine friendly URLs and so on. For the purposes of this article, we are going to assume you have had this work done. If not, do it first before you start promoting your website and you will be doing yourself a big favor.
When doing SEO, the goal is to rank better. Ranking better in search engine results is like an election. The more votes you get, the better you do. When other websites link to your website, that is like a vote! When you get more votes than your competition, your site moves above theirs. You want to make sure you are using links that contain keywords - versus links that say “click here” which is the wrong way to make links. Getting links from websites that are related to your website is best, but really, a link is a link and all links help you.
How To Get More Links to Your Website
There are a number of ways to get links. If people like your website, they may link to it. Honestly, these links are about the best ” so make sure you’re asking people to link to your site. This is called a link exchange and they’re worth doing.
Another great way to get links is by doing article marketing. Article marketing is basically what you’re reading right now. I’ve written a useful article that’s original and unique, It’s chock full of useful information that helps people and it answers a question that they might be asking. I then submit that article to article directories and I get to include what’s called a resource box at the end of the article that links back to my website.
An important item to note about submitting articles is that for it to be of any good, each article that you post on different websites needs to be totally original. What? Writing that many articles would take forever and would not be worth your time at all. That’s very true. So there’s a tool that will help you do that work and it’s called the Unique Article Wizard.
What the Unique Article Wizard does is automatically submit your article to many article websites (most rank pretty well and Google knows about them) and also creates original and unique versions of each article for you. I’ve used it many times and I’ve seen traffic and Google’s PageRank go up on those sites - and that’s the idea, right?
Writing an article using the Unique Article Wizard does take some time. It’s true. But in comparison to how much time it would have taken you to rewrite your article, it’s really nothing. If you have writer’s block, then don’t worry. You can hire people on sites like Elance.com to do the writing for you for a fair price. * Attraction
* Interest
* Desire
* Action
That is what your articles should do. They should grab people’s attention with a great headline, then get their interest within the first paragraph, then create desire and then present call to action. What also works well are “how to” articles because, again, that’s what people are doing on the Web - they’re searching for how to do things usually.
You will use the online wizard where you re-write different versions of each paragraph. Then the magic happens. Your unique article is automatically submitted to directories around the Internet. You can set it to submit 70 or so per day to somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 or more sites - sometimes many more, like 1500 or more. Nice!
Within a week or so, you’ll start to see visitors to your website increase and then search engines will see more websites linking to (or voting for) your site, which moves you up in the rankings. If you did just 1 article per week for a month or so, you’d see vast improvements in your rankings. Just take your time and write up good information that makes you look like an expert in your niche and people will look to you for more information.

We are talking about relationships when we talk about marketing. We know that the positive relationships are based on regular contact through a variety of different methods. We call our friends; send cards and flowers to our wives, and employ many other ways of demonstrating our affection to those we care about. When setting out to develop a successful Marketing Campaign it is recommended that we follow this same line of thought.
Selling today is a multi-step process. It has been demonstrated that up to 95% of the people you may touch with your advertising are not yet be in a purchasing mode, making it essential to maintain contact with anyone who responds to your marketing efforts. Build a relationship and condition them to the fact that you can be trusted and are knowledgeable about your product or service. This way when they are prepared to purchase, your company will be the one that they associate a solution to their need with.
Although the solution to our marketing challenges sounds simple, when we condense it into a few brief paragraphs, the reality is quite different. The following scenario is an example of what I mean. Imagine you attract 20 new prospects every month through your marketing and you touch base with each prospect 3 times every month. (Incidentally, contacting a prospect 3 times in a month is not excessive). Over a period of 6 months, following this same pattern, you would have to manage 1,260 contacts. If you are doing it properly you are also doing this via different forms of media. Imagine the time constraints managing this type of activity would put on your day. The unfortunate reality is that you cant afford not to do this - statistics show that you will close 75% more prospects when you DO stay in touch with them over the course of a year.
I recently came across a company that has spent the last 12 years developing a systematic and fully media featured marketing program that has automated a multi-step marketing capability. This company is Automated Marketing Solutions or “AMS”. AMS provides a full suite of marketing technology tools and processes that allow any company to deliver a comprehensive marketing program using not only tested, but proven methods. The most exciting aspect of their development is that the entire process can be automated. They refer to it as putting your marketing on Auto-Pilot. Once a business marketing program (including voice messages, e-mails, faxes and other broadcast and mail out collateral) is compiled and sequenced, their Lead Management System or LMS provides the convenient ability to manage and control that program without any further human interaction. It captures leads that respond to marketing and places them into the appropriate program for follow up by the LMS itself. Very little, if any, human input is required. The benefits to this system are significant time savings on what would otherwise be labor intensive tasks. It also provides consistency in marketing messages.
An additional benefit of using their LMS is the retention capabilities of the system. After all, once you have sourced and converted a prospect, your next most important task is to keep them. Using AMS LMS means that businesses never need worry about losing customers who misinterpreted their lack of contact for apathy. Finally, because of AMS years of experience in building multi-media marketing programs they are able to assist and educate users on the best methods to use as they build their own campaigns.
If you would like to learn more about Lead Management Systems and how it can benefit your business, visit Automated Marketing Solutions today. Discover how quickly and economically you can implement and start benefiting from AMS tested and proven technology and experience.
